Board Appointments
The Visiting Nurses Association board named new members: Cindy Harris, KMK Media Group; Cynthia Frank, Winnebago County Health Department and Mark Ticknor, Wesley Willows. Newly elected officers are: Rick Hampton, University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, chair; Patricia Lewis, University of Illinois College of Medicine School of Nursing, vice-chair; David Norberg, Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, treasurer, and Mary Pohl, AMCORE Investment Group, secretary.
Jane Wagner was installed as the 79th president of the Junior League of Rockford. The Junior League of Rockford, Inc., awarded a $1,500 Outstanding Volunteer Community Service Scholarship Award to Jordan Reifsteck, graduating senior from Harlem High School. Jenny Cushing and Jane Wagner were awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award for more than 500 league volunteer hours in a year. Other awards went to: Beth Allen, provisional (new member) of the year; Lynn Moczynski, sustainer of the year; Michelle Gearhart-Minick, spirit, and Amy Pickens, above & beyond the call of duty.

Dr. Patricia Walters, assistant professor of religious studies at Rockford College, wrote "The Assumed Authorial Unity of Luke and Acts: A Reassessment of the Evidence," a part of the Society for New Testament Studies Monograph Series (No. 145), Cambridge Publishers, to release in November.
