William DeMarco, president of DeMarco and Associates, won the Founders Merit Award by the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) with its Spirit of Enterprise Award for helping strengthen the U.S. economy and creating American jobs.
Dr. Robert Head, Rockford College president, was chosen to receive the 2008 Simon Award from the Champaign (OH) County Chamber of Commerce.

Lydia Forsythe, Ph.D., director of surgical services & orthopedic service line at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and assistant professor at the Saint Anthony College of Nursing, had three abstracts accepted for presentation at the 19th International Nursing Research Congress Focusing on Evidence-Based Practice in Singapore in July.
Cindy Harris, marketing strategist at KMK Media Group, led a workshop about marketing to the Baby Boomer generation to regional tourism and hospitality marketing representatives at Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum in March.
Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) presented the Congressional Award Gold Medal to Christina DeVoe, a 2004 honors graduate of Belvidere High School and 2007 graduate of Loyola University in Chicago, who has amassed more than 1,400 hours of volunteer service.
